Donors Choose is a United States-based nonprofit organization which provides a method for people to donate directly to specific projects at public schools. DonorsChoose.org was started in 2000 by Charles Best, a teacher at a public high school in the Bronx. Since then, it has grown to serve all public schools throughout the United States. As of August 2010, more than $55 million dollars had been donated to over 138,000 projects, helping more than 3,400,000 students in need. These projects required all types of goods and services from K12 vendors to be able to complete each of those discrete events.
The Solution:
The nonprofit turned to ESM Solutions for a customer/vendor portal which allowed teachers to search vendor websites for the items needed for their projects. This portal became a one stop shop for contract pricing with a single sign on. After filling out their shopping cart, the order was sent through the workflow engine, allowing for approval. The ESM Solutions procurement portal became the mission critical procurement application for Donors Choose.
The Situation:
The leading manufacturer of charcoal and gas grills, grilling accessories and outdoor products had seen dramatic growth with the addition of Weber-branded restaurants and the acquisition of Ducane Grills and they needed a better way to manage their indirect purchasing and corporate spending.
The Solution:
