University of Akron extends contract with ESM
Institution upgrades to ESM’s new intuitive user interface
The University of Akron has signed on with ESM to continue its work to automate and streamline its spend management processes.
The university serves about 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students from its main campus in Akron, Ohio, several other campuses across the state and through distance learning programs.
The institution deployed ESM’s eProcurement solution for the first time in 2013. The online shopping portal allows users to guide spend to only their approved vendors and negotiated contracts. With automated workflows and analytic dashboards, the tool automates the procurement process and exposes new ways for organizations to boost their negotiating power and save money.
With the latest contract extension, Akron will upgrade to ESM’s updated user interface, which looks like a familiar online consumer shopping site with quick access to links for common product categories and suppliers and notifications about items that require attention. The flexible solution can mold to any user’s unique workflows and buying approval requirements.
“Our new user interface is intuitive for anybody who has shopped online,” ESM CEO Anthony Rotoli said. “And that’s a key benefit for our customers because easy-to-use solutions boost adoption rates and, ultimately, their organization’s savings. We can’t wait to see what Akron does next with our platform.”
